Our LiteIP rebrand is a simple story

Our Lite IP rebrand is a simple story

After working hard over the past few months, we are delighted to launch the new LiteIP brand that you see featured on this website. As it's quite a change from the previous brand, we thought you might be interested in some of the thinking behind it.

Behind the scenes

Over the years, the LiteIP brand has stayed much the same, largely as we have been working hard developing our system, and building a reputation, very much behind the scenes.

Eventually we realised that, given the calibre of companies using our system, we had been a bit shy about our credentials, experience and approach.

So, working with award-winning Hampshire branding agency, Kernel Mustard, we set out to rebrand the business to reflect the system as it is today, and the way the company now operates.

Hiding in plain sight

As is often the case, we discovered what we knew all along. It turns out we are, and have always been, pretty obsessed with creating simplicity.

That might sound a bit strange but it's this simplicity that our trade customers and their end-users really like about our wireless lighting control system.

Branding with conviction

The guys at Kernel Mustard were keen for us to identify why we started the business in the first place, and articulate what we really believe in. It boiled down to us wanting an elegant and straightforward solution to a problem that has been around for years.

Commercial lighting control systems save companies money on their electricity bills. But many systems are so complex that they need expensive, professional installation and setup.

LiteIP believes that such systems really don’t have to be complicated and should also pay for themselves. That's exactly why we created a wireless commercial lighting control system that is simple to specify, simple to install and simple to run. It doesn’t need complex wiring or a degree in computer science to install and operate. It’s run using a simple app and uses less energy to save clients' money.

We were also reminded that creating something so simple has taken hard work, imagination and determination. Our solution means that experts no longer hold sway over people who don’t understand. LiteIP’s system gives control back to customers.

SIMPLY CONNECTED LIGHTING

Developing a new brand is as much about us explaining what we do as it is about logos, colours and fonts. So we've also crafted a strapline which we think sums us up well. SIMPLY CONNECTED LIGHTING is what we do. No fuss. No nonsense. It's simple. It's connected.

The Visionary Engineer

An intriguing question also came up during the rebrand process: if LiteIP was a person, what personality would he or she portray? Using personality archetypes, based on the work of Jung and Freud, we decided ours should be that of a Visionary Engineer. We think it's a great mixture of creativity and practicality and a great direction setter for our company culture. Here are some characteristics of these two archetypes;

Visionary
Perception / brilliant strategist / offers insight / imagines possibilities / thinks in systems / sees promise and potential / considers the bigger picture.

Engineer

Curious / practical / sensible / organised / honest / grounded / problem solver / team player / methodical / patient / calm / results driven / delivery oriented.

Making the brand come alive

This website is a great example of how we're now bringing the new brand to life. We've consolidated all of the useful information about our products, the applications they can be used for, and the brands who trust us to deliver, into a new site that you will hopefully find simple and informative. Over time you can expect all of our materials and communications to be updated.

A revolution that makes sense

As you can see by the before and after image shown above, we really have made a massive change to how we present ourselves. We even accept that it may have been long overdue.

But, such a revolution won't mean we stop delivering the service you have come to expect. In fact it makes us even more focused on exactly what you need and why. So we'll aim to develop even greater simplicity to make it even easier to work with us.
